I'm thinking of buying Fallout 3, as I've never played it and hear it's awesome. I've also hear the DLC for it isn't that great so the GOTY edition is basically a waste. Is this true? Also what about Fallout:NV? Is the DLC on it good?

I enjoyed most of it. As mentioned earlier, the game functioned well until I used an end, after which a DLL caused issues. Indeed, make sure you have everything ready.

Absolutely, the DLC is really bad, but the extra content is still a bit disappointing. The DLC is still terrible, though it's better than before. It's frustrating because I can't get the DLC to function properly on my PC.

The Broken Steel DLC offers a solid upgrade, increasing your character's level cap, introducing many new weapons and armor pieces, and altering the vanilla game's ending. The change in difficulty feels similar to a $2 difference between the original and Gothic versions—skills and new content are definitely worth it.

I enjoyed the DLC in Fallout 3 a lot. The Chinese Stealth Suit was the most entertaining item. You also have the chance to catch balls in the bayou DLC. If you can't get it to work on your PC, compatibility mode might help.

I’d obtain the DLC for the new items. The alien DLC is enjoyable since it offers a playful experience.
