I'm searching for a budget-friendly gaming setup for kids using B450 boards with 2600 CPUs. I need WiFi capability but most boards with built-in it are expensive and come with extra features I don't want. I'm looking for a board with an empty M.2 2260 A/E slot to install my own WiFi card. While adapters exist, I prefer having the slots directly on the board. It's interesting that this isn't more widely used—most laptops and desktops with built-in WiFi already have these slots, yet they're not common on non-WiFi models.
Consider using a 2260/2230 Wi-Fi card for antenna management, whereas integrated Wi-Fi places antennas inside the I/O shield. This likely explains why most setups opt for integrated solutions instead of dedicated slots.
