I'm preparing to sell my laptop soon and intend to use DBAN to securely erase the drive. I need to ensure Windows 10 still supports keyboard shortcuts like volume, dim/light, brightness, touch pad control after reinstalling. I had issues with my Asus G750jw after switching from HDD to SSD, losing keyboard functions such as adjusting lights and disabling the touch pad. I suspect it wasn't a hardware problem since the keyboard worked fine when I restored the old drive. Do you know where to find the necessary drivers to keep these features intact? My laptop site only offers unnecessary bloatware with no useful options.

I mentioned trying to access the right drivers for my keyboard, but it didn’t restore my Fn features and just added unnecessary bloat. Sorry for the frustration.

It seems any FN features are included in the extra components. Prebuilt laptops and similar versions come with custom restore discs that install all drivers, providing full functionality right away. If needed, you can reach out to the manufacturer for driver support.

It should, yes. However, I haven't used disc to restore in a while; you should reach out to the manufacturers' support for more information.

On my first glance I would say nothing under the win 10 64 Bit section, you'll need to go back to Win 8.1/8 for that drivers/software. The naming scheme is terribad, I would try out what sound like it would go in the right direction. How old was the machine? around 3 Years now?

I purchased it during the summer of 2013, which is about five years ago. It's an Asus G750jw.
