In short, I own an 8700K but the motherboard is in poor condition. It comes with a Gigabyte Z370 HD3-OP-CF, which needs two NVME M.2 slots (I plan to add another later). I also require three SATA ports that won’t be impacted by having two NVME drives connected. I’m keeping everything else I already have. My main reasons for wanting a different board are the lack of overclocking capability, limited RGB options (only seven colors), and the desire for a second M.2 slot. I’m still exploring alternatives but was just considering this option.
I'm not asking anyone to go through anything. I was hoping to find something that really fits. I've been assembling PCs for about 20 years now. I want something reliable without constant guidance—just checking if the board I linked works well or if someone else has a better idea.
I prefer ASUS components, especially for UEFI and fan management, because of their dependability. Most reviewers stick with ASUS boards too.
The last time I used an ASUS was likely a long time ago, and the experience wasn't great. It might be worth giving them another try.
