I recall a time long ago during the AMD Phenom era, when there was a motherboard capable of supporting both NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards in paired mode, boosting performance by only about 10%. It's quite rare, but if anyone remembers it, let me know what they call it.

Did you think about whether this comes from an age when players had separate decks for 3D and 2D?

You're checking the authenticity of what you think is a retail item. It seems there might have been confusion between an experimental version and something officially released. Let me know if you'd like help clarifying or verifying further!

That's correct. I recall the Hydra Engine and Lucidlogix. The board in question was the MSI BIG BANG P67 MARSHALL, which came with the LucidLogix Hydra at retail. It seems no other board featured it. The main criticism from reviewers was its use of the Hydra chip, which removed three-way SLI support and made the Hydra a notable gimmick. I also came across an article about the Guru 3d.

I see several boards featuring LucidHydra that work with Nvidia plus ATi/AMD options from my notes. The Maximus V Formula, Crosshair IV Extreme, and many others span low to high-end models from various manufacturers. I remember the initial release was on the Z68, followed by the Z77. With the Maximus V Formula and Lucid Virtu MVP, the required key was needed for it to function properly, but I couldn't locate a version or method to resolve this issue.
