I experienced an AMD Ryzen 3 2200G with a GIGABYTE B450 Aorus M. The system stopped working overnight during a Windows Feature update. POST lights stayed stuck on DRAM for eight seconds, then briefly returned to CPU and back to DRAM, repeating this cycle until power was cut. After replacing the memory with borrowed units, the issue persisted. I got a new motherboard from a 3-week RMA batch, but the same failure occurred. The system couldn’t recognize my memory (two Crucial Ballistix 4GB DDR4 sticks), even after swapping boards and using identical memory from another machine. Testing on another computer detected all 8GB RAM, and it booted into Windows without problems. I’m unsure what caused it. After checking motherboards and memory, I realized the CPU likely failed suddenly. I suspect the embedded memory controller on the CPU was damaged. What do you think might have happened?
