I purchased Assassin's Creed 1 a while back and have saved it in ISO format since the DVD is damaged and won’t run without it. I thought one of the patches (1.02 or 1.03) would make it work without the disc, but I can’t locate any online info on it. Ubisoft’s site doesn’t list it either, and it’s frustrating to use. I’m not sure if there’s a 1.03 patch left, though I recall seeing something about it.
You might also attempt using a virtual drive, such as with Daemon Tools. It can succeed at times and fail others.
