Available adblockers for Chromebook include uBlock Origin and AdGuard. For YouTube, consider using YouTube’s built-in ad blocker or third-party tools like VideoAdBlock. Regarding Firefox, it may not launch smoothly on Chromebook—try using a lightweight version or a desktop emulator. Brave offers ad blocking and can stream YouTube content, but ensure it’s compatible with your device settings. Chrome remains the primary browser and works well if you adjust its preferences.
Unless something has changed, uBlock Origin for ad blocking on YouTube only fully works on Firefox. Google changed how extensions work to basically kill ad blockers. uBlock Origin is available even on the mobile version of Firefox and it does work. I've never run it on a Chromebook, but it's fine for me on both Linux and Android across multiple devices, so should work in theory.
