You're looking for advice on adjusting your refresh rate in Skyrim. Most users successfully switch back to 144Hz after fixing the wagon bug, but it's best to test gradually. Start at 60Hz and increase slowly if needed. Let others know if you encounter any issues.

Try it and see, it won't hurt. I don't understand why not.

You might be able to try it, but I don't suggest it. There are several causes for the cart flip issue, with frame rate being one factor. If you have many pre-made mods active, you're likely to experience the problem regardless. To avoid it, I usually switch to a different start mod that skips the standard intro. Skyrim depends a lot on stable frame rates for its physics system to function well. Keep your frame rate under 60 FPS, or you'll face significant challenges with scripted content, physics interactions, and more.

Set your clock display to sixty and ensure Skyrim reaches over sixty.

I adjust my monitor's refresh rate to 60Hz during gameplay in Skyrim, keeping FPS steady without fluctuations—especially noticeable in loading screens where it stays around 30fps but doesn't change much.

I've experienced similar issues in Skyrim when FPS exceeded 60, and I'm wondering if lowering the monitor to 60Hz would help. You mentioned the game running faster than 60fps might be the main cause, but the display refresh rate could also play a role.

The monitor isn't handling it. You need to set a frame rate limit on the card to reduce or restrict certain complex physics effects in the game.

I figured that too. My monitor is at 120Hz, and the adaptive half refresh rate in Skyrim helped avoid the weird physics issues. I’m not entirely clear on what “adaptive” means, but it’s working for me right now.
