I was using Windows 7 and recently observed that after turning on my computer, a black screen would appear for a while before reaching the welcome screen. After upgrading to Windows 8.1, the problem persists but doesn’t prevent me from entering Windows—it just slows it down. I’ve tried cleaning the disk and removing unnecessary files, yet the issue remains. It seems related to the new NVidia 335.23 drivers on this system, especially since my machine has a GTX 550 Ti. This wasn’t an issue before, so I’m curious if anyone knows what’s causing it.

If you suspect the issue is with the Nvidia driver, it's best to replace it and use a more recent version.

I attempted it but didn’t resolve the issue. It seems I just realized my computer restarts right after the boot logo, then displays the “Please Wait” screen on Windows 8.1. This behavior is unusual—I’m curious about the cause.

I checked online sources and confirmed the problem with Bidefender antivirus. It appears to have an unresolved issue with no available fix currently.
