You might be able to. However, for the "fixing drive" section, it’s better to attempt a replacement drive. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, it’s likely the problem isn’t with your drive (make sure to remove every existing drive before proceeding)

I already set up that drive, but it’s no longer recognizing it. My chances are low, but I’ll attempt to install a fresh BIOS.

It seems the issue might relate to BIOS or the motherboard. Fixing it often involves swapping parts until you identify the cause, ignoring software problems along the way.

Have you attempted to reinstall Windows using the Microsoft installation utility? (I noticed you're looking to transition to Linux.)

Updated the BIOS recently, but no device is connected. I’m considering purchasing a PCIe SATA card instead. I’ll keep an eye on the cable setup to avoid extra trouble. It seems unrelated to Windows right now.

It isn't what I intended. The drive could be formatted, but it's currently missing, which leads me to consider trying the Microsoft Installation tool again. Updated February 7 by leclod

In fact, the drives aren't shown in the BIOS, meaning Windows isn't active yet. Just the M.2 device is recognized.

I got it now, I wasn’t trying to disturb you—I was just sharing thoughts. It looks like your bios might have interpreted drive functions in an unusual way. Maybe I’m mistaken, but I want to double-check.
