I recently switched from a 5700xt to a 7900xt using the same monitor. The 5700xt performed well at 1440p and 144hz without any issues. The 7900xt, however, causes a rapid white screen flicker for a few milliseconds at 144hz. It's quite noticeable and bothersome, but it only happens when the refresh rate is set to 120. I just want to watch at 144hz Sad PXL_20230404_144910577_2.mp4

The correct monitor, the appropriate cable, and the precise 7900XT model are all essential for compatibility.

27gl83a-b is the monitor, a VESA certified IVANKY 1.4 DP cable is connected, and I'm using the XFX MERC 310 7900XT. I already have another DP cable, but I've tried two so far—a 1.2 cable and now the 1.4. Both had similar problems. The new one I'm getting is from Kabledirekt and has better ratings, which should fix it. Otherwise, it might be a GPU issue, and I might need to return it for repair.

Using the newest monitor driver is recommended.
Check the latest motherboard BIOS and chipset drivers.
Disabling the MultiPlane Overlay MPO may help.

I’ve got the newest drivers and chipsets ready. The MPO setup I haven’t worked with before, so I’m just turning it off using an old NVIDIA link. I’ll give it a try and see how it goes.

Disabling MPO didn't fix the issue. You're still experiencing those strange, very fast fullscreen glitches.

I've received my third DP cable and the flickering hasn't improved or has gotten worse. I'm considering returning it for replacement.

It’s frustrating to go through this, but did fixing the card via RMA ever make a difference? Was the new one smooth? I know the problem clearly.
