Last year I decided to purchase the 6900XT for $1700, but now I’m concerned it might need a return or replacement because the problem keeps recurring. Every day, multiple times, I’m stuck at my computer—writing, watching videos, or playing games—and suddenly the screen goes black. It usually takes ten to a minute and a half before it comes back, sometimes it just fails completely and I have to restart the whole system. If it does come back, a driver error will appear, and whatever program was running at the time will crash. Whether it’s games, browsers, or other apps, as soon as I open them again, they disappear. Constantly dealing with this is really frustrating. I’ve updated my system and installed every driver version available, from a year ago to this month, but the issue persists. This suggests there might be a hardware problem. Temperatures haven’t been too high, and the card works fine in games when it functions properly, but my 5700XT on my work machine still has this problem. I’m getting worried and hoping for help.

Occasionally it stays the same. When it comes back, you'll see a yellow icon saying the display driver stopped working and recovered. If it doesn't come back and you had to restart the whole thing, a red icon appears warning of an unexpected shutdown.
