Is the dark display prompting an automatic restart on its own? Usually, reaching full fan speed signals a hardware issue. How are your Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 Ti temperatures looking? Would you like to check Event Viewer logs for any recorded events during that blackout?

Heh, the worst scenario... Consider updating the BIOS and chipset drivers. If that doesn’t help, it might be time to swap out the motherboard (yes, I own this one already, soon I’ll replace it). It’s not great quality, but it’s better than nothing. The BSODs are annoying, but the issue seems more about outdated MSI BIOS than hardware failure.

The black display doesn't trigger an automatic restart. I need to reboot the PC using the case button to fix it. During the black screen, I could hear game audio for a short time before it stopped.

My GPU temperature is around 54°C.

I'm uncertain about the section in Event Viewer I should check; however, when I went to Windows Logs > Application at that moment of the outage, an error entry appeared. Details are:

- Faulting application name: dwm.exe, version: 10.0.19041.746
- Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 10.0.19041.1202
- Exception code: 0xc00001ad

What bothers me about MSI's MOBO is its performance under heavy load. I've used similar setups before without issues, but switching to a newer processor might affect stability. I tend to keep BIOS settings simple—just enabling XMP—and maybe I'm missing out on potential problems with advanced configurations.

After checking online, another person encountered the same problem and it seems the graphics card required re-seating because it wasn’t connecting properly with the PCIe slot. Try re-seating the graphics card and observe if it fixes the issue.

It usually comes down to RAM compatibility, stability, and reliability. The MSI BIOS tends to be average at best. I had to wait around two years for a more stable version that properly supports my CPU—still not perfect, but it’s improved. At least they’ve made updates recently. For the chipset driver, it’s better with AMD than with MSI.

Same problems occurred with that same board. (uppercase letters used for variation, referenced "b450" as non-working)

Thank you for your response. I'll refresh my bios and chipset. I hope that resolves the issue.

I understand the situation. Because the issue isn't clear, I can't confirm an immediate fix. Still, I hope the combined updates on the BIOS and chipset help resolve it eventually.
