Hey all, there's this issue I'm having with waking up after the screen timeout in Xfce. Occasionally, after moving my mouse or typing to wake up, the monitor wakes on and receives a display signal but stays black, without a cursor or text output. After a few seconds, the monitor stops receiving a signal and goes back to sleep. The expected result should be: wake up using mouse/kb -> receive display signal -> show lightdm-greeter login screen -> login -> resume session Sometimes it does wake as expected. Sometimes it doesn't. However, I can type my password and login without having a display output. I've been having this issue ever since installing Manjaro. It doesn't happen on other distros nor OSes. There are no errors in `/var/log/Xorg.0.log` There's not much I've done in terms of troubleshooting steps, as information on this issue is scarce online. How can I narrow down the problem? I'm running the latest proprietary NVIDIA drivers, displayport on a LG g-27gp83b-b Thanks for your help. Here's the output of `cat /var/log/lightdm/lightdm.log` after timeout, waking it after a few seconds, letting it sleep again, waking again, and logging in without a display output. Power settings and sleep modes often behave unpredictably in Linux. I’ve stopped trying to save energy due to unreliable performance and now prefer using full power consistently. This isn’t the solution you were hoping for, but it highlights that a lasting fix might not exist.

Thanks, I appreciate the reply. I guess I'll keep trying or perhaps switch to KDE or something. Hoping we can get some progress with Nouveau on the newer gen Nvidia cards. Insert Linus Torvalds nvidia quote

Stay informed about updates; let me know if you discover a fix. Could assist others in resolving similar problems later. This might be personal, but I prefer NVIDIA drivers over open-source options.
