System performance spikes quickly and causes blackouts during any pc-dependent activity. Works adequately for light tasks like gaming or YouTube, but fails under demanding games such as Valorant or CS2. GPU temps sit around 60-65 and CPU at 80 with your Asus B85m-G i7-4790k setup. I've used DDU, reinstalled drivers, updated BIOS, reset settings, re-seated the GPU, tested on another rig, and applied thermal paste. Still unsure what's causing the issue—any further suggestions? Thanks!

Are these readings under light or heavy usage? You're wondering since you mention issues with black screens and fans spiking during full load. It might help to check CPU and GPU performance separately using tools like Cinebench and Furmark, focusing on one component at a time to identify the problem. If both are affected, it could point to memory or power supply issues. My suggestion would be to run stress tests with just one RAM stick and possibly a different PSU.

The GPU is likely the issue. Black screens appeared quickly on both the original setup and my fully stable rig. This suggests a faulty GPU rather than something else, and you might be able to resolve it by checking connections or updating drivers.

He repaired the card himself after finding a problem with the power pins on the PCIe connector. One pin didn’t seem solid enough, so he replaced it. If you’re not familiar with electronics or circuit board repairs, I doubt you can fix it yourself. But perhaps someone you know is looking for a quick fix and wants your honest take on it.
