At the start of the year, I acquired an old Optiplex 3020 and an RX570, connecting them via a SATA to PCIe cable. It functioned well for a few months. Issues arose mainly during power surges, causing static or crashes with fans running at full speed. Despite these hiccups, I managed to play games without problems. Eventually, I upgraded to a B85 motherboard and a better PSU, replacing the original components due to audio concerns and higher power needs. This removed some of the Dell hardware from use. Recently, I got a new CPU and built a PC for my sibling using the same Optiplex parts plus some older HP 500MT components. It’s essentially the same setup as before this year. The Current Issue Now, there’s a persistent screen flickering lasting about a minute, often paired with static bursts. I’m planning to perform a DDU and reinstall drivers, but I suspect either insufficient power or the card nearing the end of its life. If that’s the case, cleaning and re-pasting might be the only solution. I’m wondering if there are other factors I might have missed.
