I'm facing a problem with my dad's PC. It began when he was using Windows 10 version 1703. He mentioned an update that supposedly upgraded it to 1709. After that, the problem arose: his screen would go black and the whole computer became unresponsive. The caps lock and numlock keys stopped working completely. I checked the Windows 10 Discord community, which isn't very helpful, and asked for advice. Someone recommended an "in place" upgrade to the April 1803 update. I tried that, and it worked for a while, but now the issue has come back. I'm unsure what's going on and don't think it's a hardware problem. His system specs are: Asus Z87-A motherboard, i7-4790, Corsair Vengeance LP 16GB overclocked to 1600Mhz, GTX 960 with 2GB RAM, EVGA G2 Super Nova, and a 1TB HDD. The issue also shows no activity on the HDD light when it happens. Edited May 30, 2018 by Josh_Grid21

Start by disabling the overclock. It's unclear why some individuals keep it active during troubleshooting.

I disabled the RAM overclocking, enabled Intel Virtualization Technology, and instructed Windows to turn off displays in the hope of resolving this issue.
