Hey everyone, a few days back a friend suggested moving from regular fan cooling to a liquid cooling setup. I ended up getting the NZXT Kraken x66 front-mounted model. When I run Cinebench for multicore performance, I only reach about 1.4k points, whereas the expected average is around 28k points. I’m struggling to find any guidance online and feel a bit stuck. I tried lowering my CPU voltage with Intel XTU by -0.150V, but it didn’t seem to make much difference.

The 28k on R23 seems correct, but it looks like you're playing R24 instead, which will result in a completely different outcome.

You now have a liquid heat exchanger in place, but you're running more fans than necessary. Turning off unused background tasks and services can improve performance.

28K is intended for R23, using Cinebench 2024. For this version, the 13700K should sit between 1600-1700 under ideal cooling and power conditions. If your cooling isn't sufficient, that could be the cause. Also, this aggressive undervolt setting might trigger clock stretching, which can cause instability rather than a crash.

I ran it on R23 and achieved roughly 26k points. However, during the midtest my system restarted and it kept getting over 100°C, which feels extremely high for the Kraken X66.

I removed that undervolting because I only did it to see if it affected the CPU temperature, but I didn’t expect it to have any impact.

Did you remove the plastic casing from the AIO prior to installing it on the CPU? Perhaps you should reattach it.

I attempted to test it in R23 but my computer crashes immediately, and after restarting it’s not working well anymore.

Open the system and inspect the cooler—perhaps it isn’t secured correctly, or there could be plastic or another barrier between the CPU and the cooler. Is the AIO connected? Did you connect it to your motherboard? Make sure to verify that again.

I'm clearing everything out once more and starting over. I believe the pump is correctly installed.
