Hey, a week ago you planned to install Windows 10, but you didn’t realize the last chance would come just three days later. You were aiming for next month’s holiday, so you wanted to adjust the schedule. Can I cancel the scheduled Windows 10 installation completely? Your help would be really appreciated.

Connect the power cable, then disable the Windows Update service via the control panel. Navigate to Administrative Tools, select Services, and set the Windows Update service to disabled. Right-click it and choose Stop or Reboot.

You've located it, but the link doesn't appear grayed out or correctly labeled. It seems the correct option hasn't been displayed yet. Once it shows, you'll need to follow the instructions there. This should happen automatically when the prompt appears again.

Right-click properties, select Windows Update, disable it, then it won’t update at all—even if you try. The update service isn’t active, so manual updates can’t work.

After setting it in properties to disable, the change becomes permanent. If you lose power, it will restart manually unless you know what you're doing.
