schannel 36884
schannel 36884
I just built a new system but playing games causes problems. The game runs fine until the screen freezes, I can still hear music, but I have to press Alt+Tab to quit. When I check Event Viewer, it says schannel 36884 all the time. I've looked into this but don't get what it means and how to fix it. Any help would be super nice thanks.
You can try the fix suggested here by editing the registry, but please follow the steps in the blue box to make a backup first. The LDAPS connection is failing with event ID 36884. Here is how you troubleshoot that error: https://learn.microsoft.com I don't think this event is actually causing errors though. Windows would have shown up if something was wrong there instead. CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X MB - Gigabyte X570 I AORUS PRO WIFI (bios F36c) Ram - 16gb Kingston Storage - 3 x 500gb ssd GPU - 3060 TI What PSU? I doubt display is cause. anything show in reliability history? There are three more BIOS since your current one - https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X57...rt-dl-bios could try updating chipset drivers - https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/...t-am4/x570
I have a new PC with a Ryzen 7700X and an Asus ROG Strix X650e-f gaming WiFi card. I also added Seasonic Focus + Gold power supply, a 3060Ti graphics card, 12GB of RAM at 6GHz speed (two 16GB sticks). Everything has been installed correctly with the latest BIOS and drivers. It works fine for about two weeks now, but only when the games are online.
I see what I think works, maybe just update that key so when you switch tabs the PC shows a picture. The B650-E is real, and the X650 was something I never had before. Are we on Wi-Fi or Ethernet? Neither driver here seems brand new anyway, check that link for help info.
I know, but I need to update my signature, sorry. The computer is still working, sometimes the game works fine if I switch between apps, other times I have to restart everything. I use WiFi, but there are no other problems with the system. It's funny though; I don't have any issues playing Apex Legends, but Callista Protocol and CoD Modern Warfare keep freezing every 10 minutes or so. The game just stops working for a while. After reading more about this trick and feeling ready, I will try it.
I don't like problems that only happen sometimes. Maybe background jobs are causing them. Try a clean start and see if it helps - make sure to follow steps carefully and do NOT turn off any Microsoft services, or Windows won't start at all - here is the link on how to do a clean boot in Windows: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help...in-windows It does not delete anything, it just stops other programs from starting automatically. This way you can easily undo it later. If a clean start fixes the issue, then it's probably a program that runs at startup. You should restart those programs over a few times to figure out which one is causing trouble. I wonder if it's an Asus program?
I haven't tried the clean boot method yet because I don't have enough time, but every game I play now is crashing. I've looked at my system for malware, run a file checker scan, checked the registry, reset my PC, and even installed windows 11 again.
what speed is the ram running at? if it survives a reinstall its not likely to be a driver unless the motherboard installed something - latest Asus boards auto install Armory Crate software on 1st restart after an install. Can be turned off in bios I don't think its software. But I can't be sure. Wondering where to start. PSU not obvious place to start, Seasonic makes it a hard place to start as they rarely or blame. not ram as you not getting BSOD or freezes. Just crashes. It doesn't sound like GPU as it works if you alt tab... thats not how GPU driver errors work, they all or nothing. NO real tests for a motherboard. Only real test for AMD CPU is Prime 95. It could be a rounding error, maybe... can't tell without running test and it can take over a day. curious... search for System Info application when it opens, click the + next to Software Environment in left hand column then click on Windows Error Reporting with a new install and new PC, it should take long to populate Now the dates may not make any sense as its not in date order, its alphanumerical. Two types of errors can show here: Application Windows Error Reporting Just curious if you getting any Pre radar crashes. They happen when windows guesses a program is using too much memory and closes the program as a precaution.
I tried turning on my RAM with EXPO set to 6000Hz and using a curve optimizer with a negative offset. But now that I checked the BIOS, everything looks optimized. So maybe those old settings are making things worse. I'll test a game soon to see if it helps. Even though you told me how to check my system info, honestly, I don't know what to look at when I open up the menu.
Check RAM first, then I'll tell you about the system info. Just like this, it only shows problems.
