Hello, System Information: Model UP Squared 7100 SBC CPU Intel N100 RAM 8 GB Storage SSD Link to product https://up-shop.org/default/up-squared-7100-series.html Problem Summary: Very slow start-up experience. Programs such as Edge, Task Manager and File Explorer load slowly. CPU usage spikes when apps start. Some interrupts cause moderate CPU load. Observations & Test Outcomes: Benchmarking and Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool completed. Results indicate CPU at 13th percentile and graphics graphs at 0.37%. All tests passed except a BandString check appears to be faulty. Troubleshooting Attempts Made: Windows drivers updated, Intel CPU and graphics drivers verified, no new firmware from maker. Tested Ubuntu 24.04 which showed similar issues; some forms suggest it's due to LLVMpipe for graphics instead of Intel drivers. I tried forcing Intel Mesa and Iris drivers in Ubuntu but it still uses LLVMpipe. BIOS C state disabled. SSD works well elsewhere. Question: Are there further troubleshooting steps or clues that might assist? Thank you very much in advance!

Obtain ThrottleStop and review the temperatures, it might indicate thermal throttling.

You're right, the N100 performs poorly even when running at maximum speed.

I didn't expect this, I was only testing the N97 but didn't think it would make such a big impact. It seems the N97 feels quite smooth and handles things well, yet my N100 is ranked in the 13th percentile among similar models.

Largely due to UserBenchmark's poor performance, it should never be relied upon. Their findings are flawed and inconsistent (being courteous).

I understand. The N95 offers a modest 0.2 GHz boost in clock speed and 450 MHz faster graphics compared to other models. That does contribute to noticeable performance improvements.

in part? If you look at the GPU, that's a more than 50% clock speed increase The N95 is also capable of pulling 150% more power than the N100. Once you start adding those up, the N100 will fall pretty significantly behind.

It’s common for the antimalware tool to run at high usage continuously. This can happen if it’s detecting many threats or processes are active.
