I’ve saved my files manually for years, but it turns into an issue when you edit or add music to iTunes. Do you know if there’s a way to back up files on Windows to an external drive so changes are automatically saved without needing repeated copying?

Perform a complete image backup first, then configure incremental backups. These will only save updated files or changes. Scheduling full backups at regular intervals is also possible.

A full image backup copies all your data at once, ensuring everything is saved. To do this, you can use tools or services that create a complete snapshot of your system or files.

Choose Veeam for a cost-effective, enterprise-level solution. It generates complete backups and operates on a timed schedule, producing incremental copies while combining older ones to avoid storage overflow.

Is it the cloud backup or an external drive? I’m really new to this stuff, so please clarify.

The free Veeam agent may access local storage such as internal drives or external HDD/SSD, a network share like SMB or CIFS, a Veeam Backup Repository from the enterprise edition, or a OneDrive account.

Is this really the case? One method of sync works as a backup. Synchredible allows quick comparison and copying of missing or changed files. However, I might be mistaken—perhaps only programs named with "backup" will function correctly.

When attacked by a cryptolocker or accidentally deleting a file after it's synced, a reliable backup system maintains multiple versions, allowing you to revert to any previous state up to x days.
