Hello. I just purchased a Samsung SSD, 980 PRO 500gb, but it doesn’t appear anywhere in BIOS, diskpart or anything else. I’m using a Gigabyte Gaming Z390 UD with an i7 8700k and 32GB RAM. My other drive is a WD SN530, also NVMe but PCI-E 3.0—though I doubt it will work since it’s PCI-E 4.0—and I’m not sure if it could be faulty.
Can't use the port since no disk appears when connecting the Samsung device. Using the same port without an adapter doesn't work. The device seems to be malfunctioning.
Even outdated AHCI PCIe M.2 storage devices are usually recognized by the UEFI system; however, they may go unnoticed in a Windows installation ISO or when running without a compatible driver. If it doesn’t appear in the UEFI, it’s probably not detected there.
I found it online, likely from a seller listing. You can check the photos to verify if it matches a genuine 980 Pro.
