Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2tb arrives brand new but triggers BSOD errors during Windows updates.
Hey there, struggling a bit here. I keep seeing BSODs with random errors every half hour after installing the new drive and fresh Windows install. All components tested—RAM passed all checks, CPU stress test completed, even updated BIOS and drivers. RAM is working fine on my old Samsung 2.5" SSD. But once I switch to the new 970, the blue screen keeps appearing. I’ve tried everything I can think of: updated firmware, BIOS tweaks, driver installs, even the SSD utility. Nothing works. It seems like this drive might be faulty or not compatible with my motherboard. I’m not sure how to confirm that or what the problem really is. I see others on forums talking about similar issues, but no solution yet. Outside of this new drive, my system still runs. Could a fresh M.OTG card help? Any suggestions would be great. MOBO : GA-AB350-Gaming (rev. 1.x) CPU : Ryzen 5 3600x
It seems your SSD might be faulty. You could reach out to Samsung support. Make sure your SATA and SATA power cables are properly seated.
I faced a comparable situation with a customer. I attempted various solutions such as updating the driver, disabling the device, running sfc/scannow, and repairing system files, but nothing resolved the issue. After examining memory dumps following a BSOD, no specific driver or program was identified as the cause. Eventually, I transferred the pagefile from the SSD to a second HDD in the system, and the problem appeared to be resolved. If this doesn’t work, I’d consider uninstalling the antivirus software next.
