Hello, your SAS card is compatible with Gen2 X8 speeds. When connected to an X4 Gen3 port, it should function at Gen3 X4 speeds; otherwise, the slot may need conversion to Gen2x4. This setup should work as expected.

They implemented some updates, but you needed to understand how to use them effectively. Your card operates at 2.0x4 bandwidth because it's from a previous generation.
