Same as 3500
Same as 3500
I've been considering upgrading from my 2600 to a 3500x or 3500. I planned to go with the 3500x but noticed it shares the same clock speed and cores as the X model. Since all Ryzen chips are unlocked and the X doesn’t differ in speed, what really matters is the slightly larger cooler?
I don't believe it's a good idea. Keep your eye on what comes out in the summer.
Yep, that's what I read, too. Can't find anything official for the 3500 though (only a 3500u notebook part). Here's the 3500x: https://www.amd.com/en/products/cpu/amd-ryzen-5-3500x Note how it says "China only".
the components run faster in a higher setting, though i’m unsure if it’s a ryan 7 model. the x-series devices typically support hyperthreading.
It's mainly the OEM+Chinese version, making it hard to judge exactly. I think the main change is the cooler build, but since you can find similar prices elsewhere (like AliExpress), either option could be a good deal for a new gaming CPU. You’re likely looking for strong performance now, trading off some serious potential for future upgrades. If you’re focused only on games, you might consider a budget i9-9400f with a decent Z390 UD motherboard and upgrade later to higher speeds. For someone who values Ryzen 3000 power, there’s hope it could outperform 9th-gen Intel in certain titles, though that’s still uncertain until proven. It’s exciting to see four generations of CPUs fit into one socket—price matters more than the number.
Thanks for your response. The only thing holding me back is the need to purchase it abroad. I don’t think I need a new CPU, so I’ll likely hold off for a few more months to compare the Ryzen 4 options.
