Hey everyone! I've never had to replace a component on a laptop before. I was curious about safety steps. Since I've worked with PCs and know you should turn off the power and wait a bit, should we do the same for laptops? It has a battery now, so I'm not sure. Thanks!

When you need to disconnect the battery, it can be tricky and I think the connector isn't designed for many insertions. The only guidance I have is to handle the bottom cover gently during removal since many laptops have them fastened on top as well as being secured. Also, take care when taking it off just in case a cable is tangled or connected elsewhere. Otherwise, most drives should be unscrewed, removed, and replaced following the same steps.
