today i tried pushing my 3700x overclocked to see how fast it could run without changing voltages. i got 4.5 gHz with auto core voltage, but hwmonitor showed the core voltage jumping to about 1.51v and temps climbing into the low nineties. i’m worried because i’ve heard the ryzen 3000 has had problems at that level. based on what i know, anything over 1.4-1.45 is risky for daily use. i lowered the overclock to 4.2 gHz and now it reads around 1.3v, which feels normal. why does it spike to 1.5v?

It could briefly reach 1.5v for a short moment, but not when under stress. We've observed this when the CPU is idle with a quick voltage rise. If you're consistently seeing steady levels above 1.4-1.45v during load, it may be too high—consider manually adjusting the voltage.
