Hello everyone I am new to overclocking and I just want a stable overclock that is decent
I tried to get my 6600k to 4.6Ghz but crashed at 1.3V so I put it down to 4.5 @ 1.3V. My pc also crashed @1.275V on 4.5 so I figured this was a good middleground.
My question is, is 1.3V and 4.5Ghz a dangerously high voltage? or is there any easy to see problems and suggestions?
Thanks everyone!

i would stay below 1.3v, though some reach up to 1.4.
In my opinion, even with 4.4GHz you won<|pad|>, the performance change won't be noticeable compared to 4.5.

if it operates stably at a moderate temperature (under 85°C when under load) - it's secure. what motherboard and CPU cooler are you employing?

if it runs stably at a reasonable temperature (below 85 under load) - it is safe.
what motherboard and cpu cooler are you using?
Hi, so the pc just crashed. I tried 4.6Ghz and 1.327V, and my motherboard is ASUS z170 AR with Corsair H50 (edit: didn't work out, man i'm having a hard time finding stability :/)

mentioned stable [email protected] - that's fine.
your cooler should maintain the CPU below 75°C

n0ns3s:
you said stable [email protected]—that's fine.
your cooler should maintain the CPU below 75°C.
I guess I might have to raise the voltage to around 1.35 to 1.36 if it starts entering the risky area.
