Checking the safety of purchasing 5$ window keys on eBay is important. Always verify the seller's reputation and read reviews before buying.

I purchased genuine Microsoft Windows 10 keys, builder licenses intended for new PCs, and some inexpensive versions on Amazon. The main difference is that you must create your own USB drive to download the operating system, which is available directly from the Microsoft website. Each key is simply a code, not an actual download link, so it appears safe based on what I understand. Honestly, I have no clue how these sellers manage to get these keys.

It really comes down to the situation. Some keys come from original equipment manufacturers, which can be reliable, while others are grey market products that might be stolen or obtained illegally. I’ve owned one in my life for testing purposes—it worked well—but there’s always a chance it could fail or be scammed. The risk is real, even if the odds seem small. You’ll need to decide based on your own judgment and consider the advantages versus the potential downsides.
