I want to mention that I own an authentic Windows 8 copy and upgraded to 8.1 on one of my computers, but I don’t have the Pro version. I’m trying to find the best deals to get a Pro license for Windows 8.1 soon so I can later switch to Windows 10 for free. If anyone knows where to buy a genuine Windows 8.1 Pro effectively, please share the details.

Regarding your other questions: I have seven PCs in my house, each with a different purpose. Do I need a separate Windows 8.1 Pro copy for each one, or can I use the same disc for all of them? Also, what is the intended use of a Windows 8.1 Pro System Builder OEM? Please let me know if you can help with these matters.

You require Pro because it offers a better price and essentially the same features. Each disk can be shared across all PCs, but you must have a separate key for each one. The same key won't work on more than one machine.

Enderman suggested using the 8.1 standard unless advanced features are essential, as most don’t require it. The free upgrade from W8 works well, and the disk should function on any machine with its own key. The system builder disk is intended for builders and original equipment manufacturers who assemble and sell the PC, making it technically against the EULA to use it personally. Microsoft doesn’t enforce this strictly, but using it for business could raise audit concerns. Direct support isn’t provided for these copies, leaving responsibility with the system builder.

You're welcome. It seems you're considering how to purchase keys for your PCs. The best approach depends on whether the key is cheaper when bought individually or as a bundle. Buying one disc and then purchasing keys separately might be more cost-effective than buying each key individually. Let me know if you need further clarification!

I purchased an OEM version of Windows 8 Standard and when I tried to upgrade to Pro, I simply used the Microsoft Store from the start menu, entered a credit card, and it upgraded me to Pro... I actually required Pro capabilities so the upgrade was worthwhile (I don’t recall). If you don’t need Pro features, it wouldn’t be worth your money.
