Ubuntu VM on Windows – you won’t catch a virus unless you move files yourself from the VM to the host OS.

Are you planning to run games solely on Windows? If yes, consider using an Ubuntu VM on W10. If not, opt for Ubuntu within a W10 virtual machine. While VMs can sometimes harbor viruses, the chances are low. In the end, switching to a free operating system would be the best choice.
