Line of sight is clearly the best option here. When navigating through trees, consider switching from the M5-300 to the M2-400. It matches the same range and speed but operates on the 2.4GHz band, which tends to penetrate obstacles better than the 5GHz. I’ve used Ubiquiti nanostations for connecting across about half a mile—through walls, siding, and trees work well. If you go ahead, set up at a distance of roughly 100 feet apart. This avoids constant back-and-forth troubleshooting for IP and SSID settings.

At 2,4ghz it becomes simpler to navigate terrain and structures, especially when the music is too intense; you can introduce alternative channels via a telnet hack to bypass regional limits.
