Hello all,
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
I own a Ryzen 5 2600 paired with an MSI B450M Gaming Plus and a Cryorig H7.
I’m considering overclocking while gaming and wanted to know realistically what gains I could expect. Is it even beneficial?
Additionally, does the 2600 support precision boost overdrive? I’ve heard it’s efficient—how do I enable it? Is it adaptive or does it maintain constant voltage and clock speeds?
I’ve read various guides but also wanted to confirm whether setting a stable manual clock speed would lock all cores at that voltage, or if after achieving stability I could switch back to adaptive settings for dynamic adjustments based on workload.

It depends on your monitor's resolution and refresh rate if your system gains benefits from a CPU OC. If you're mainly GPU-dependent, you might not notice much improvement in FPS from an overclock.

Determining whether you're GPU or CPU bound involves specific testing methods. MSI afterburner can display this information if applicable. For downlock settings, you'd require particular configurations. Running at increased clock speeds and voltage isn't harmful during use.
