s about Mac OS file inspection and launching files
Hi everyone, I have a few queries about opening and viewing files on Mac OS. At school, I made a file using Photoshop (.psd) in my documents folder, then saved it in another folder under documents. When I switched computers, opened Photoshop 2017, and tried to access the same files, I couldn't view them properly. Are there any compatibility problems when moving files between Macs? Specifically, can files saved on one computer be seen on another that supports multiple users? Also, regarding the desktop viewer, I noticed that opening a file from my previous computers worked fine on my desktop, but not in the file directory. Is this a cross-platform issue? Thanks for your help!
Returning to computer 1 (the one you made the file on) still displays the 2018 folder? You experienced similar issues with Macs at your college. The best solution is using a USB drive to transfer everything, which will prevent further complications. It’s unclear if it’s a Mac-specific issue or just how schools organize their networks.
On computer 1 I could access the 2018 folder containing my project (the original location saved by me). The second machine had problems opening the file in Photoshop, while the third worked smoothly, allowing me to view it easily from there. I believe this is related to how the school’s network is configured, since everything is stored on a network. Honestly, I’d favor Windows for its straightforward file handling and general ease of use.
Problems would stem from the individual machines or the link linking them.
