My cousins face restrictions on popular platforms like Reddit, Telegram, Discord, Twitter, and others. Some VPNs with servers abroad are permissible, but using services without local servers—like Mullvad—could create complications. Many apps function only on mobile devices or require a direct connection through Tor, which isn’t always reliable. While these sites work with Orbot (which uses Tor), it doesn’t support iOS and drains battery quickly on Android, often shutting down unexpectedly. I’m using Debian 12 on a live USB with persistence, aiming to set up privacy tools and hand over the device for my cousins to run blocked app emulators. I’m seeking additional steps beyond this setup to fully protect anonymity. I’ve followed numerous online guides and tutorials, but encountered obstacles. Could you clarify if anything else is needed to maintain privacy and ensure smooth operation? I’m new to Linux and relied on YouTube and other resources for installation. Please advise.

I think we shouldn't be able to help you circumvent any security or blocks due to the forum's policies. If a VPN isn't working, I really don't know what to do.

There aren't many safe spaces left, but some communities still offer support through encrypted or private platforms.

Reddit is generally a good place to start, but you may need to explore other methods if you encounter similar problems. Others might have faced the same issue and shared their experiences on Reddit or elsewhere.

It seems no relevant details were located. I reviewed numerous sections but found nothing applicable. Talking about circumventing restrictions isn’t permitted in this space.

You should set up WireGuard on your main device, then have your cousin link to your VPN through it. This way, he’ll have access via you. That seems like a practical approach at the moment.

Setting up Debian on a live USB and using Tor proxies together with an emulator should be straightforward, though some challenges may arise. He can carry it with him wherever it functions.

Consider purchasing a USB drive with 120/250 gigabytes, possibly from Samsung, and install Linux on it. Avoid using the live version since it won't retain your modifications. Flatpak works well for lightweight apps, while flatseal helps manage permissions for those applications. The rest depends on your preferences. Good luck!
