Hey there, I just got Cyberpunk 2077 on launch and noticed some people are struggling with frame rates. I'm using an 8700K plus 2080 Ti and only managing around 65-75 FPS at 1440p with near-maximum settings. Are others on lower-end GPUs experiencing major FPS drops?

This game is known to have lots of issues with FPS even with top tier hardware. I suggest you try newer drivers if you haven't already. Pretty sure there's a new game ready driver for CyberPunk. The game runs smoothly at High/Ultra on a rig with i5-6500 and a GTX [email protected] I don"t see why your fps should be so bad.

Check the gameplay options, adjust pedestrian numbers to low while keeping NPCs sufficient. This reduces CPU load without sacrificing performance. Many tweaks can be made with minimal impact, saving CPU cycles too. Don't assume high-end specs mean no improvement—changing settings like percentage gains helps across different GPUs. Percentage gains affect other systems because they're percentage-based costs. You can also impose an FPS limit if the game isn't responding, though updates are needed for that. FPS caps stabilize fluctuations, leading to more consistent performance. Across 1000 PCs and 500-1000 variations, results differ due to ongoing game updates. These tips may still be helpful despite the challenges.

Looks good. With 4K resolution, an RTX 3080 and a 10700k, you should get about 50 to 60 frames per second using max settings. It's a tough game to run.

You’ve already saved the newest Nvidia drivers. It might be due to your system using high/ultra 1080p while you’re running max settings at 1440p.

Game performs well on my 4790K without RTX when Ultra is enabled. It runs smoothly. With RTX, the CPU struggles with both high settings and 60fps in busy areas or intense scenes. Without RTX, performance improves significantly. Everyone has their own experience, of course...

Maybe that’s the point. I’ve pushed everything to its limit for quality, with RTX and DLSS turned on and set to maximum. In short, I’m running the game at the toughest settings. Still, I’m managing around 65 frames per second. It’s not quite as smooth as 144fps, but there’s no stuttering or freezes. To be honest, most consoles should run at 30 or 60 FPS anyway. I guess if people can handle 60 FPS on consoles, I shouldn’t be upset about 65. Plus, I’m not alone—I know some gamers still use older GPUs like the GTX 760. It’s tough for them, especially when they’re stuck with limited hardware.

Many have linked game issues to RTX being active, so it might be wise to turn it off until major updates arrive. I purchased the game on Friday and won’t play it until most bugs are fixed. Until then, I’ll stick to more Witcher 3 content.

I own an 8700k + 3080 @1080p setup. At full capacity, performance stays comparable to yours. Honestly, I believe the bottleneck is on the CPU since I expect better efficiency with a more powerful processor.

I play a 8700k + 3080 with 32 gigabytes and 1440p at full capacity using RTX. Even with Quality DLSS, it runs smoothly. I notice some visual issues, and others are complaining about it, suggesting that if you enjoy the game, you might be missing something. I’ve played for about ten hours without any crashes. There are occasional visual problems, like smoke when talking to Johnny or a strange "call of my car" that suddenly intensifies. Overall, it hasn’t been terrible for me—it feels like a lucky break. I really enjoy the game and it performs well on my system, though I don’t see any strange pacing or bugs. It just looks incredibly detailed and runs smoothly.
