Hello, I have a question about this setup that seems a bit complex. My system uses an Asus Strix B460 -H Gaming with an RTX 3070 TI Strix and a Soundblaster AE-5 Plus. I know my processor (i7 10700) has its PCI lanes, and the motherboard also supports them. However, I’m curious if adding an M2 NVME SSD (WD Blue SN550 WDS100T2B0C) will cause any problems or issues with the system. I’m currently using a Samsung 850 PRO SATA drive, but I found a good deal and wanted to upgrade. Will this affect performance or cause any bottlenecks? Thanks.

There will be no problems. The GPU will draw power from the CPU PCIe lanes, while the rest of the system uses the chipset PCIe lanes.

No, I'm not using PRO drives for any specific purpose.

I own it for about eight years now and really enjoy it. It has worked perfectly without any problems. The computer uses it as the main storage for the operating system, with a few extra HDDs for handling large data. I originally intended to get an SSD for better longevity.

Consider using the middle M2 port instead of the top one. The manual isn't very clear, but the middle one has the headsink feature, which is helpful if you're planning to buy one with it. If you need a headsink, it might be better to choose that option. You can find more details in the linked document.
