I'm comfortable with the installation steps and understand the pros and cons. I've used it with my R5 1600 since LTSC stopped being supported, so I can share my experience. For someone like you who prefers stability and avoids frequent updates, the risks of switching to another OS might be worth considering. The 1903+ scheduler is reliable, and security patches are handled smoothly. If you're okay with a slightly older version, it could be the safer choice.

Avoid using ltsc, esp for a friend on a desktop. Certain programs may not function properly with newer versions of office, and you'll see improved performance with updated software. Updates remain consistent across regular releases, with major updates every month. The six-month update is typically smooth and hassle-free as well.

basically all similar in terms of lightness; just Pro and Above offers additional options if needed. If you don’t require them, just run home.
