Ryzen, Spectre, Windows 10
Ryzen, Spectre, Windows 10
I've installed Asus X370-Pro and B350M-A with 1000 series CPUs. Both run Windows 10 with the FCU and have auto-updates enabled for that version. The BIOS versions indicate they're vulnerable to Spectre using the MS tool, but the OS shows as protected. The latest X370 system update to April now reports protection. It's odd since newer BIOS 4011 is available for both models. Applying the Windows update resolved the issue, but I'm curious—has anyone else experienced this with the April update and a Ryzen 1000 CPU? Also, is there any mention of Intel microcode updates in the latest Windows 10 releases for these systems?
I wouldn't use the MS tool at all. InSpectre works much better. I can't answer your question yet—I'm still on Has-E and honestly, I'm not too concerned about Spectre or Meltdown right now.
