Ryzen Overclocking Policy
Ryzen Overclocking Policy
I'm a bit worried because AMD said that using an overclock will cancel your warranty.
Here are my questions:
1. Can I set my RAM speed to 2667 MHz or higher and still void the warranty?
2. Does this mean I can't overclock my Ryzen 1700 model without losing the warranty, or is there a specific limit like "3.5 GHz is the maximum"?
Please let me know if anyone has any advice.
Thanks!
It's unlikely they could detect any overclocking, so the warranty limit doesn't really matter. They wouldn't produce or sell processors, MBs, memory, etc., that are unlocked or ready for overclocking if they didn't anticipate people doing it. I think they probably expect some level of overclocking to appear, which helps them look more appealing.
It's impossible to know for sure if anything was overclocked. They wouldn't design or sell such components if they didn't anticipate people doing it themselves. I think they probably want some level of overclocking to appear more impressive.
