Ryzen i9 board featuring s/pdif specifications
Hello everyone, I'm looking for guidance on finding an Ryzen ITX motherboard with S/PDFI support for my HP TPC/VR upgrade. So far, I've checked a second-hand board and a Dodgey-looking X370 BIOS Star on eBay (uncertain about reliability with a 2600/3600), but the new ASRock X570 is too expensive. It seems options are limited, and using a converter might be necessary. Any advice would be really appreciated.
I checked the available ITX boards with s/pdif support—optical or coax/RCA—and found only ASROC models. The fatal1ty boards you mentioned (B450, X370, X470) all include optical output. Could there be another option you're considering?
Thanks, yes you meant optical audio (that small square connector). My HTPC transmits an annoying crackling sound through HDMI to the TV, thought it was interference but I've tried various HDMI cables without success. The PC only started doing this after I installed its GPU—when I switched it into a VR PC from Soley HTPC. I prefer optical because it lets me connect my PC directly to my sound bar via optical. Since I'm planning an upgrade, finding a board that supports optical seemed like a smart choice. Any advice? Take care!
GIGABYTE B450 I AORUS PRO WIFI features an SPDIF OUT header on the motherboard. You can purchase a matching bracket with connectors on eBay or similar sites: examples here – https://www.ebay.com/itm/SPDIF-Optical-a...4102967478 and https://www.ebay.com/itm/SPDIF-Optical-a...2329054857. Target boards with ALC1200 or newer, as they usually include optical output options.
