You're dealing with a puzzling setup. Your machine has a powerful Ryzen 9 7950X and plenty of RAM, but Windows 10 is running sluggishly. After updating the BIOS and skipping AI overclocking, you're still experiencing slow performance. The CPU is clocked at 2.5GHz, and temperatures are high during full load. It seems the system is oscillating between high and low speeds during Cinebench tests, which might be normal, but the scores are dropping significantly. You're considering switching to Windows 11 for testing, but you're concerned about compatibility and cost. It's important to verify if the new CPU and RAM are functioning correctly before making a change.

These results still seem unusual. Based on the single-thread stats, it looks like you're running R23, yet the multithread scores are off the charts. A 7950X should ideally score around 39000, which is close to its potential—about double what you're seeing even on Windows 11. The Windows 10 score appears to be affected by a glitch, as it should be closer to 11000 even at the lowest settings (around 1.55GHz), not the 2850 you're observing. This suggests a possible corruption in the Windows environment. I’d consider a full reinstall of Windows 10 and ensure all drivers are installed, especially CPU and chipset ones, since missing them can cause major performance problems. Another possibility is that the CPU’s clock frequency is unstable from the factory, possibly indicating a faulty chip. Adjusting the base frequency to something like 1900MHz might help, but these are just educated guesses. All advice is based on assumptions here.

I placed the Asus chipset drivers on my motherboard, but I'm unsure about the CPU driver. I checked the AMD website and saw Adrenaline—did you mean that? It seems you might adjust it in the BIOS advanced settings. You could review that to see if it helps, but I recommend trying the new CPU arriving tomorrow to check for improvements.

They removed it for AM5, but it was only used with AM4. For the chipset drivers, use AMD's site instead of ASUS'. The info is in the BIOS under overclocking, probably hidden there. EDIT: If a new chip arrives tomorrow, try it out. I’d test the Windows install and FCLK settings first, but it could fix some issues. Updated March 18, 2023 by RONOTHAN##

Thank you for the feedback! The screenshot shows the behavior during Cinebench R23 execution. It fluctuates between 0.50Ghz and 5.3Ghz, which isn't typical.

It seems unusual. It almost looks like overheating and throttling. Consider using HWInfo64 for better monitoring, as it includes more sensors. It could help to log data while running Cinebench and share it here. This might reveal unusual reports we haven’t noticed yet.

It might be better to just upload the actual log file, since there's this program that makes it really easy to parse HWInfo sensor data. At least easier to view than Sheets the last time I tried.

Ok cool here it is - I can't make sense of it all. I ran it during the entire Cinebench run. I reinstalled the chipset drivers from the AMD website btw. log.CSV
