That's a bit surprising. At that time, 9700K matched the cost of my 3600XT. I might be able to get most of my money back.

For most titles the 9700K should deliver improved FPS, especially at higher resolutions where frame rates drop. I’d compare it to the 8700K for anyone planning a buy since I have adequate cooling. XD Edit – mainly focusing on lower-end performance.
