I'm exploring the Ryzen 7 3800X for ARCHICAD, REVIT and other tools. I have a RTX 2080 Ti, 2080 Super, 2080 and Radeon RX 5700XT. I'm unsure which RAM to choose—should I go with 3200MHz 8GBx2 or aim for faster options? Can I upgrade to 4000MHz or higher? Is that feasible with this processor? If yes, what motherboard would fit? My main goal is boosting boot times and app loading speeds. The budget is unlimited. I'm excited but a bit nervous about it all.

Keep frequency under 3700MHz in Infinity Fabric 1:1. After entering Infinity Fabric 2:1, boost RAM speed to 4400MHz to offset the 2:1 delay.
You own a lot of GPUs because it makes performance a priority. I suggest pairing two 8GB DDR4-3600 units, boosting them to 3866, and adjusting timings. At 1933 MHz on IF or with 3866 RAM, you reach the top limit for that configuration. You can easily achieve 3866mhz/16-16-16-36 on this setup. It’s a solid build and well-optimized. If you need even closer speeds (like 14-14-14-34), the 4300mhz option adds just $50 more.
Zen 2 infinity fabric supports up to 1800MHz or 3600RAM in normal mode, and 1933/3866 in OC mode. Exceeding these limits causes a 2:1 scaling, requiring RAM around 7000MHz for equivalent performance.

Seek the highest performance RAM with the best possible clock speeds (though still practical), like affordable options in the 4000-4500MHz range from Patriot and Team Group. First, even though Zen2 now caps around 3600-3800MHz with a 1:1 memory clock, future updates might adjust to similar ranges (possibly AM4). You’ll still be able to use compatible memory. Second, you can always run a quicker kit at lower speeds while maintaining tighter timing. Third, the cost for good 3600-3800MHz units is already steep, so adding more isn’t worth it unless you need it.

For Mobo picks, the Aorus X570 Pro around $250 is solid, while at $300 the MSI Unify shines, and the X570 Taichi is worth it at $350. The X570 Master sits in between the X570 Master and X570 Crosshair 8 Hero at $350. Going over that is usually not worth it unless you need 10gbe.
