Are you sure this extra $150 AUD adds enough value for the performance gain in your gaming setup? Comparing an overclocked i5 10600K (5.1GHz) with a 3700x processor, you’ll need to weigh it against the added costs like cooler and more expensive motherboards. Keep in mind you’re mainly using it for gaming and light study tasks—just Chrome and Word.

You should evaluate 10600k alongside 3600 since both feature 6C/12T, and the 3600 matches the performance of the 3700x.

I see the Ryzen offering better long-term value since modern systems often require 8-core configurations. The i5-10600K seems unlikely to become outdated before the next generation of consoles launches.

If you have the option to pay more, it makes sense to choose a quicker card.

I’d choose the 3700x version too, since it runs faster overall and keeps up well over time.

I support it with a score of 5700 or higher, plus that.

Near the release of new CPUs and GPUs, investing more in a superior CPU is wiser than allocating funds to a top-tier GPU. A higher-quality CPU today will perform better with a quicker GPU later than a faster GPU today improving upon a slower one tomorrow.
