Hi! For a Ryzen 7 1700, a "golden" chip would be one that runs significantly higher than its typical performance. Your current speed of 4.05GHz at 1.3375V is solid, but to be considered top-tier you'd want something closer to 4.0–4.2GHz or higher, depending on the voltage and stability you can achieve.

Not too bad. I own two golden 1700s, only fully pushed one so far, but both are set to core OC at 3.8ghz with stock voltages. I pushed 4.0 on my first 1700, but it's on a 120mm AIO and I'm not sure if building a loop would help like I did with my second one. At 4.2ghz all core at 1.4vCore. My adjustments are: 3.8ghz stock, 3.9ghz 1.2vCore, 4.0ghz 1.3vCore, 4.1ghz 1.397vCore, 4.2ghz 1.4vCore. For a 1700, it seems average. Most people with 4.0ghz OCs find decent voltage ranges work well, especially at higher voltages like 4.2ghz. Going beyond that usually needs serious overclocking, which I don't think is practical for most builds.
