It's finally here—poll time! With the Ryzen 5000 CPUs launching tomorrow, who will be the first to grab one? Release Time

You're unsure about the choice—between 5950X and 3960X, or holding off for a new generation of Threadripper and Intel chips. The latter seems unlikely anytime soon.

Your Dubai profile indicates you're based there. Are you typically receiving parts on Day 1?

I'm excited about this upgrade. The 6800K is really not what I need anymore.

You'll likely need to wait 4 to 6 months before receiving a Threadripper.

I’m not entirely confident, but I can look it up and let you know if you want. I’m getting familiar with all this, so I’m learning a lot. My build is still in the planning stages, so I don’t need to act right away.

5800x or 5600x, likely the 5600x version

I understand your concern. The 5960x is indeed a Ryzen processor, and while the HEDT is appealing for its IO and PCIe capabilities, the 5960x offers ample resources and high core speeds that can significantly boost performance in tasks like Premiere and AE.

It's hard to say with certainty about that time frame. You might be right to hold off and check out the latest features before deciding. New Threadripper seems likely to use ZEN 3 architecture. If its specs match the excitement of the 5000 series, waiting could be a good idea!
