Ryzen 5 5600X achieves 90°C+ during boot and idle when paired with Kraken X62.
Hello everyone, I hope you can assist me. I recently purchased my own PC and have noticed that my CPU frequently reaches 90% or higher during the boot process. I had a 60W cooler with stock cooling and didn’t think much of it since I planned to upgrade later. After installing the BIOS and using Ryzen/AMD software for the chipset, I changed the thermal paste three times—twice with the new paste and once with the old one from a drawer (several years old). The performance remains unchanged. I’m unsure if there’s something I’m missing, especially since this is my first Ryzen build. My system includes a 5600X processor, Gigabyte B550i AORUS Ax 3600MHz RAM (still at around 2600 MHz as I haven’t updated the BIOS), and I’d really appreciate any advice. Thanks for your help!
The cooler performed well yesterday in my old 6600k PC. That makes me doubt that. When checking the next software, it indicated the pump was running at around 4000 RPM or something similar. The PC was functioning properly since I didn’t think about causing any damage.
Verify the CPU cold plate connection and confirm the mounting bracket type (AM4, AM3+, etc.)
